24th August 2020: Election Synod of ELCSA-SED in 4 different places of Umphumulo center

Dean Nkosinathi Nathi Myaka elected to become Bishop of ELCSA-SED

On August 24, 2020, finally an electoral synod in the SED was hold. In order to comply with the lockdown regulations, at the location of the diocesan center in Umphumulo, the meeting took place in four different rooms. Each place was connected with the other rooms by zoom.

As with the canceled electoral synod of November in 2017 the previous Vice Bishop (in the meantime he belonged to the suspended superintendents ) the new bishop was elected by the ELCSA-SED: Bishop elect N.M. Nathinkosi Myaka (currently Dean in the uMngeni Circuit) and Vice Bishop again. The introduction is scheduled for September 27th, although it is not yet clear how this should look like under Lock down conditions.
